Since PRRLA’s inception in 1997, the Secretariat has been relocated every three years to a new host library to encourage and ensure broad perspective and participation. From 2022-2024, the Secretariat was run by The University of Melbourne (UoM), who provided leadership and valuable administrative and membership management support to PRRLA.
Now in 2025, as The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) steps into the host role of the PRRLA Secretariat for the next three years, I look forward to working with the Steering Committee and our members as Chair, PRRLA Secretariat. Despite unprecedented circumstances around the world, PRRLA has thrived under the leadership of Ms. Gwenda Thomas and her associates at UoM who worked tirelessly with the Steering Committee to guide the membership, address challenges and opportunities facing PRRLA and identify exciting opportunities to broaden the reach of PRRLA through several successful programs, including the Annual Conference, the PRL project and Karl Lo Award.
The Secretariat handover from UoM to CUHK began in the latter part of 2024, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Rose Gertsakis and UoM for their efficient documentation and thorough handover, which has made the process as seamless and smooth as possible.
