Established in 1972, the PolyU Library encompasses seven floors and covers 20,878 square meters, with the addition of a new top floor in July 2022.

As the oldest academic library in Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong Libraries (HKU Libraries) has a legacy of promoting knowledge exchange through its special collections and developing many associated digital scholarship projects.

For the upcoming contributions, we invite submissions aligned with World Library and Information Congress 2026, IFLA for Libraries Powering Transformation, was held in Busan, Republic of Korea. Please consider the following extended theme:

  • Special Collection and Open Access

  • Future Libraries in the Pacific Rim

If you would like to be featured, please submit your contribution under any one of the themes. The questions below are provided for your reference only. Please feel free to include or adjust any points you consider relevant.
Special Collection and Open Access

  1. Could you share some highlights from your library’s special collection that might hold research significance for the Pacific Rim region?

  2. What one digitization/preservation practice has most improved discovery and impact—can you share a brief example?

  1. How do libraries address ethical, cultural, and rights consideration in the context of Open Access?

  2. Any other messages you want to share with PRRLA members?
 

Future Libraries in the Pacific Rim
  1. What is your future vision for the library, and what concrete step are you taking now to get there?

  1. How does your institution manage multilingual collections that hold regional significance across the Pacific Rim?

  2. Where do you foresee AI helping in libraries?

  3. Any other messages you want to share with PRRLA members?

Images: Up to 10 pictures (in .jpd or .png).
 
Institutions that have previously submitted are welcome to update your Spotlight by sending us amended documents.
